Class of '55 classmates for whom we had addresses.

Dear Classmate and Friends:
The George Washington High School Class of 1955 wants to once again host
a successful reunion, this time our 60th! Since your
Reunion Committee does not possess an Ouija board or crystal ball we
need the support of all our fellow alumni. If you have new
information on any of our classmates, please let us know.
March 7, 2015 the committee had its initial meeting and a decision was
made to explore the possibility of renting the Old Dominion Boat Club
(ODBC), 1 King Street, Alexandria, VA. For your information – the
boat club was originally constructed in July of 1880 as a place for
boating enthusiasts and for social contacts. The City of
Alexandria has recently purchased the ODBC; it will be razed and rebuilt
at the site of the former Beachcomber Restaurant (later Ye Olde Hunter’s
Gun Shop). Construction will probably not commence until 2017.
March 19, 2015 we met with ODBC officials and a rental agreement was
signed for our reunion to be held Saturday, September 26, 2015 from 5:00
p.m. until 9:00 pm. Our plans to date include a buffet dinner, use
of the ODBC cash bar for beer and wine, with liquor being available at
no charge except for any mixers required. The reunion will be on
the 2nd floor in the ballroom and we will have recorded music
from the “Good Old Days” that we hope will bring back wonderful
cost of attending the Reunion dinner will be $30.00 per person.
