Our 50^th reunion was held at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites — the same site of our successful 45^th reunion in 2003.  A block of rooms were held at the hotel for those who wished to stay on the premises.  The room rate was $119 (plus applicable taxes and fees) per night, single or double.  Reservations were made directly with the hotel and mention was made of the GW/Hammond Class Reunion to take advantage of the reduced rate.  The web site for the Inn is Holiday Inn of Alexandria, VA

• An informal welcoming reception was held on Friday evening, October 3, in the hospitality suite at the hotel. 
• Registration took place in the Commonwealth Hall lobby. 
• Cocktails were served from a cash bar in the Atrium between 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. 
• Class photographs were taken in one of the meeting rooms from 7:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. 
• The reunion itself was held in the hotel’s Commonwealth Hall, which  has its own entrance and is removed from the hotel's busy lobby, on Saturday, October 4.  A buffet dinner was served from 8:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.  Tables were set up in the ballroom for dining.  There was a short program following the dinner.  After the program there was time to visit with old friends and to dance to the classic music of our generation provided by the Sonny Daze Band.  The festivities ended around midnight.
• The cost to attend the reunion was $100 per person.  That amount included the Friday night reception, the dinner, and dancing.  Drinks during the cocktail hour, special-request drinks during dinner, and the class photographs were offered at an additional charge.
• A BRUNCH was held Sunday morning for those who wished to continue visiting and reminiscing.  Donations were requested to defray the cost of that meal.
